Beto & Son

Salsa Night

Every Wednesday night unless announced other wise Beto and Son host a Salsa Night. They provide step by step Salsa routines to get you as close as you can get to a salsa dancer.

First Time

The first time at Beto and Sons I invited my family and friends so it was a good group of us (10-15). Due to it being salsa night it was very crowded and the wait was an hour and forty five minutes. We waited because salsa night started at seven and we got there at seven. The class was very detailed and a good experience every body that I invited had a really good time. Now to the BUT, after the class was over we were still waiting to be seated and forty five minutes to go. My friends and family became not only ancy but hangry so we left and had to settle for El Fenix.

Second Time

The second time was so much better, this time it was just my boyfriend and I. We got seated right away and I think it is because this time it wasn’t as crowded and we had less of a party. We got one of their Nitrogen Margaritas that they bring right to the table and make right in front of you.

For an appetizer we got the Quaso Blanco, my boyfriend and I have a thing for white cheese and it was soo good. The entrée menu is not you traditional Tex- Mex menu it was very spunky. To keep this post lite I’m not going to mention the whole menu. We decided to go with the Mix Match Tacos, you pick any three tacos from the list provided. I chose one chicken and two steak tacos.IMG_2725

I love going places when not only the atmosphere is great but the food is better! I can not wait to go back! I will definitely recommend this place as a date spot or a dinner party for family and friends!

The Breakfast Club

I just want to say the line isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. For the record I did go on a Saturday and it still was a line but it went by quickly! The  hospitality was so welcoming, everyone had an Aunt or Uncle  demeanor. The food taste just like my Grandmother made it herself. To my surprise the lemonade was just as good as the food I mean forrreal I literally decided to save it after my first sip. The hours at the  restaurant are very  convenient, they reopen from like 12 a.m -3 a.m which is perfect for after club hours !

Chicken & French Toast

The menu says Chicken & Pancakes but I  substituted the pancakes for French toast and add strawberries on top.

Portillo’s

My boyfriend & every other person in Chicago suggested Portillo’s they are known for having the best hot dogs! Which was good because hot dogs happen to be one of my favorite meals !

IMG_1559

I got me a good ole chili cheese hot dog with a side of onion rings. I haven’t had a better hot dogs but the dog wasn’t all that if that makes sense. So basically what I am saying is, if you’re passing Portillo’s and happen to be hungry you should definitely stop there but you don’t have to go out of your way ! I also hear Maxwells is a good Chicago must have so I would try there too. We passed it but did not stop but I did notice it was 24hrs which is always cool!

Jerk Taco Man

Chance The Rapper tweeted about this location literally a week before my vacation so being a food traveler I thought to myself “why not”. I was not leaving Chicago without trying Jerk Taco Man !

IMG_1600

The menu is literally FULL OF ANYTHING JERK and believe me when I say the servers will JERK YOU DOWN ! They loaded every meal with meat & toppings to the T! None of that stingy Chipotle bs, I mean they really loaded your plate up and if you know me you know I love a good loaded plate !

So I got the Jerk Shrimp which was not bad at all but when I saw other people getting nachos I wish I would’ve got that.

Jerk Taco Man is a little pricey depending on what you get, just be prepared to spend at least $20!
I’m already thinking about when I go back so I can get them nachos !

El Bolero

Did someone say Lobster Fajitas 🌶

Ive been on a lobster kick for a couple of weeks now so when I ran into this dish it was nothing but perfect! I’ve heard of Lobster Rolls or lobster pizza but NEVER Lobster Fajitas. I came across El Bolero when reading a blog titled Top 10 Meals you have to try in Dallas. Soon as I scrolled pasted Lobster Fajitas I knew it was something I had to try!

Before going to El Bolero I did more research & found out that on Fridays it is Lobster Friday & Lobster Fajitas are half off which means they are $15 usually $30 BUT WELL WORTH IT, plus it’s Lobster. 😅

More Deals

Ok I know y’all are wondering how it taste! Let me just say IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAD IN A MINUTE! I’m still thinking about it, I mean seriously! Everything was great, the vibe was cool, the  restaurant  was clean, which made the visit so much better!

Im definitely going back, no doubt!

El Bolero is located in the Design District of Dallas.

Taste of New Orleans

Dat Dog

Really what drove me to this place was the appearance. The restaurant was painted with beautiful colors and filled with vibrant lights.

When I approached the menu I was so amazed by the different meats you can make into a sausage. They had an Alligator dog (which is the one I chose) or even a crawfish dog! After you pick the meat type you want, you then choose the toppings which is far from just ketchup and mustard. Due to the fact we where in New Orleans it was not surprise when I saw crawfish and a Cajun sauce as a topping.

I honestly can not remember what all I put on my dog but believe me it was to die for.

Dat Dog is located on Magazine Street which is basically the artsy district of NOLA

I absolutely  can not wait to go back!

We Dat Food Truck

Ok so I came across this place when I was looking for a good ole “hood plate”. If you do not know what a hood plate is I would love to explain. A hood plate is basically a BIG meal that you get from the hood for cheap. I mean the plate has to be loaded with food and poorly presented. As I searched across Instagram I found We Dat Food Truck. The Instagram pictures looked just right for me, so I headed there.

  1. The location is definitely not in the hood, lol (not a problem)
  2. The menu was pretty basic which is sometime good .
  3. The PRICE was definitely not CHEAP. (but hey we all tryna make money)
  4. Taste was honestly just OK ! I’ve had better!

I got the Wazzam Wings w/ cheese, bacon, and jalapeño fries.

I’m not pressed to go back but it’ll be cool for you to try.

Asparagus Soup

I have never really been a big fan of soup especially soup I have never heard of. Hell my first time trying soup was this Christmas break of 2016! It was tortilla soup to be exact! When the teacher said we was making soup I wasn’t too excited. Even after we made the soup I still wasn’t impressed but I figured this would be good for people that like soup!
